'Faith in humanity restored' as stranger helps person injured in Old Market Square

A person's 'faith in humanity' was restored after they were helped by a stranger after an incident in Old Market Square. The unnamed person took to discussion website Reddit to explain how they 'went flying' and suffered an injury.

The post read: "I went flying in Market Square the other day and injured my already-torn ankle. A lovely man came and helped me up, walked me to Spoons so I could sort myself out, and stayed with me whilst I was panicking/going dizzy.

"He told me his name but I can’t remember it, BUT I wanted to say thank you in case he was on here! Restores faith in humanity and all that."

The poster explained to fellow commenters that they were helped to the Joseph Else pub by the man.

Responding to the post, one Reddit user said: "I'm sorry you fell my dude, I'm glad someone helped you."

A fellow commenter added: "Awesome. Joseph Else? Hope you're okay." The original poster replied: "That’s the one! Yes, thank you, just a sprain, hobbling but doing okay and back at work."
