Faces of 30 people police want to speak to immediately

Police want to speak to these 30 people about recent crimes across Merseyside.

CCTV images have been released in a bid to help investigations into crimes committed in the region. The crimes range from a teenager being sexually assaulted on a bus to a man threatening Pizza Hut staff with a gun during a robbery.

Police also shared a large appeal for nine people, after brawl in Birkenhead earlier in November. During the fight, a woman was knocked unconscious outside a bar.

Merseyside police believe the people pictured in these appeals have information that could solve active cases. All appeals have been released in the last two months and are mainly for crimes committed in that time period, however some crimes date back to July 2022.

Here we've rounded up some of Merseyside Police's most recent appeals. Police are urging the public to come forward if they have any information about the people pictured. People are asked to DM @MerPolCC or @CrimestoppersUK anonymously on 0800 555 111.

CCTV appeal after burglar broke into house in broad daylight

Police want to speak to this man, after a man broke into a house and went upstairs during a daylight burglary. A man made his way into the house, at around 12.55pm on Monday, November 14. Police were called to the report of a burglary on Dalemeadow Road.

It was reported that a man had entered a house and made his way upstairs before he was disturbed by the person who lives there. He then ran from the scene empty handed.

Detective Inspector Chris Saidi said: "Burglaries can have a massive impact on the person and families affected as they have had their home invaded which is an awful experience to go through, and can often have a long-lasting impact on victims."

Men beaten with pool cues in brawl that spilled out of pub

Men were punched and beaten with pool cues in a pub brawl that spilled out onto the street. The fight broke out at around 11pm on Friday, November 25 at the Horse and Jockey pub, on Arrowe Park Road in Wirral.

It is believed the fight started when two men were punched repeatedly and attacked with pool cues by two other men. All four men continued to fight as they left the pub and the brawl escalated in the street when more men joined in.

Shortly after the incident, a 24-year-old man from Tranmere was arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent and possession of a controlled drug. He was released on unconditional bail pending further enquiries.

A 37-year-old man from Noctorum was also arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent and he was released on conditional bail pending further enquiries. Now, police investigating the brawl have issued CCTV images of three men they would like to speak to. Officers believe the three men pictured could have information to help the ongoing investigation.

Man suffers serious head injuries after attack in street near pub

A fight broke out on St Helens Road in Prescot involving four people near to the Prescot Guild pub on Sunday, September 25 at around 4.45pm. A man in his 50s was attacked by another man and suffered a serious head injury.

The victim received treatment from hospital and is still recovering from his injury at home. The alleged offender then left the scene.

CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspect responsible, and detectives have issued images of three people they believe could assist with their investigation.

Detective Inspector Lisa Milligan said: "This was a serious assault which has left the victim injured and he is still recovering from his head injury, and such violence like this will never be tolerated on Merseyside.

"This incident took place at a time when St Helens Road would have been busy with people and vehicles driving by, so if you were in the vicinity at around 4.30pm onwards and saw anything then please contact us.

"I am also appealing for people to come forward if you recognise the people featured in these images. We believe they could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries."

Man repeatedly punched in Heaven nightclub

A man was left with serious head injuries after being attacked in a Liverpool nightclub. The victim, who is in his 30s, was standing at the bottom of the stairs in Heaven, on Victoria Street, when he was punched repeatedly in the face.

The attack happened at around 3am, on Friday, November 18. He was rushed to hospital with serious injuries and received treatment. Police have confirmed he is now recovering at home following the assault.

CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspect responsible, and detectives have issued images of a man they believe could assist with their investigation.

Defenceless pensioner punched twice in face by thug

Merseyside Police has issued a CCTV image of a man they hope can assist with their enquiries after a 71-year-old man was assaulted in St Helens. The victim was standing outside a bar, on Westfield Street, when he was approached by an unknown man who punched him twice in the face, causing an injury to his nose.

The suspect then left the scene on foot, at around 8.20pm on Saturday, November 12. Detective Inspector James Rotheram said: "This was a nasty and completely unprovoked attack on an innocent man.

"We think the male pictured in the CCTV image may have vital information to help our enquiries and although the quality of the image may not be as clear as we would like, we hope that it could trigger someone’s memory. If you recognise this man, or this image reminds you of anything suspicious you saw at around 8.20pm on Saturday 12 November on Westfield Street, please do let us know."

Man hit by van driven at him deliberately on city centre street

A van driver deliberately drove at a man in Liverpool city centre. At around 2.30am on Wednesday, November 30, police received a report that a man in his 20s had sustained slight injuries after he was involved in a collision with a white van on Duke Street.

The driver, who failed to stop at the scene, drove towards him and also collided with other vehicles parked on the street. The van was later found abandoned on Price Street.

Officers are investigating the incident and have analysed CCTV footage to identify anyone who could be responsible. Merseyside Police have now issued an image of a man they believe could assist with their enquiries.

Teenager sexually assaulted on 10A bus

An 18-year-old woman reported the sexual assault offence to Merseyside Police after being on a number 10A Arriva bus at around 7am on Saturday, October 1. The woman was travelling on a bus from Liverpool city centre to St Helens.

CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing to identify the man responsible, and detectives have issued an image of a man they believe could assist with their investigation. Detective Inspector Chris Saidi said: "Everyone should be able to use public transport without the fear of being subjected to an incident like this.

"This young woman was left shocked and upset by this incident, and we are determined to bring the man responsible to justice. We think the man pictured may have vital information that could help our enquiries so if you know him, please come forward as soon as possible."

Woman knocked unconscious as huge brawl erupts 'with weapons'

Merseyside police have shared images of nine people who officers think may have information in connection with a large-scale disturbance in Birkenhead earlier this month. During the incident, a woman was knocked unconscious after a fight erupted outside a bar in Birkenhead.

The brawl started at around 4am on Sunday, November 6, when a group of men gathered outside a bar on Conway Street in the town and two of them started fighting. Merseyside Police said this soon escalated into a large scale fight between several males, some using weapons, and also a woman.

The woman was punched and knocked unconscious during the fight before the men made their way onto Argyle Street and the fighting continued. Police have now issued CCTV images of eight men and one woman, they would like to speak to as they may be able to help with the investigation.

Man's jaw broken in attack on Mathew Street

Police have released images of a man who could have information after an assault in Liverpool City centre. At around 2am on Wednesday, September 7, officers were called to a report that a man was assaulted on Mathew Street in the Cavern Quarter.

The victim, in his 40s, was punched by a man in an unprovoked assault, before his assailant ran off with another man in the direction of Legends Sports Bar. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment on a fractured jaw after the assault.

Man threatened Asda worker with knife after being caught stealing

A shoplifter threatened a security guard with a knife after he was caught red-handed in an Anfield supermarket. The incident occurred at Asda on Breck Road around 5.50pm on Saturday, November 5. A man took a number of items from the shop and attempted to flee without paying - but was challenged by a security guard.

The man then threatened the guard with a knife before making his escape. Inspector Paul Rannard said: “We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed what happened who have not already spoken to the police, or who has CCTV footage of the incident to assist in the investigation.

“I am also appealing to the man featured in this image, or anyone who recognises him to come forward. We believe they could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries."

Robber waves around gun and threatens Pizza Hut staff

A gunman burst into a Liverpool takeaway during an armed robbery. The robber, holding a gun, entered Pizza Hut on Smithdown Road and threatened staff with the weapon. The suspect demanded money from the workers at around 12.10pm on Monday October 24.

He then ran off with a cash till and safe box. Police have confirmed that no one was injured during the robbery but staff were left shaken.

Officers have now issued CCTV images of a man who may have information to assist enquiries into the armed robbery. Since the launch of the investigation, a 50-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery but has since been released on conditional bail.

Woman, 87, distracted by man as thief took her purse from bag

The victim was shopping, in Tesco, on Earle Street, Newton-le-Willows, at around 12.10pm, on Friday, October 7 when her purse was taken. The 87-year-old was approached by a man who asked her questions about items in her shop. Another man then reportedly went into her bag and took her purse, containing cash. Police now wish to track down two men who may have information about the incident.

Officers have released CCTV images of the two men who may have information to assist enquiries into the theft. Detective Inspector James Rotheram said: "We are very keen to speak to the two men pictured, as we believe they could have vital information about this incident that would help our enquiries.

"This was a despicable offence targeting an elderly woman in her local supermarket, somewhere she needed to go to buy essentials and where she should feel safe."

Boy, 11, followed from McDonald's and thrown off his bike

A boy was followed from McDonald's and then robbed. The 11-year-old boy was cycling along Aigburth Road, close to the Territorial Army Centre, at around 6.35pm on Sunday, July 3. He was then grabbed by two suspects, who are believed to have followed him from McDonald's.

One of the boys threatened the victim and claimed they had a knife, although no knife was seen. They then threw the victim off his bike and stole it. The bike is described as a Bossnut mountain/cross bike with red writing on the underside of the frame.

Merseyside police have now shared CCTV images of two people who they believe will have information about the robbery and could assist in the investigation. Detective Inspector Katie Coote said: "Extensive enquiries have been made with officers and through local schools to locate these young males, but without success."

Man's wallet stolen after he paid for shopping at Heron Foods

The man, in his 60s, had been shopping at the supermarket in Newton-le-Willows between 1.30pm and 2pm on Friday, October 14. He paid for his food at the till but then dropped his wallet when trying to put it in his back pocket.

The wallet was then picked up by the suspect. Merseyside police are now appealing for more information and have issued a CCTV image of a woman who they think could help with their enquiries.

Detective Inspector Jamie Rotheram said: "This was dishonest and callous behaviour where the victim’s wallet fell to the floor, it was then picked up and should have been handed in to staff so it could be returned to the rightful owner. Theft of the wallet has caused undue distress to the victim who has not only been left out of pocket, but he has also had to cancel his bank cards and other items in the wallet."

Man waiting for a taxi in town battered by thugs

A man was taken to hospital after he was hit in the head with a metal cannister while waiting for a taxi. Merseyside Police has launched an investigation after a man in his 20s was assaulted by two men while waiting for a taxi. Police received reports that a man in his 20s was hit in the face with a metal cannister at around 4.30am on Sunday, October 9.

The victim was assaulted by the two men on Skelhorne Street on the junction with Bolton Avenue. He went to hospital with several injuries and cuts to his face.

Officers have carried out an investigation in the area and analysed CCTV footage to identify the two men responsible. Detectives working on the case have now issued images of two men they believe could assist with their enquiries.

Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: "This was a nasty unprovoked attack that has left a man with significant bruising and injuries to his face. We think the men and the woman who is also pictured with them may have vital information to help our enquiries so if you know them, please come forward.

"This incident happened at the weekend in a busy part of Liverpool near Lime Street Station where people who were leaving the city would have seen the attack. If you recognise these people, or these images remind you of the attack that happened at around 4.30am on Sunday 9 October on Skelhorne Street please contact police.”
