Turning 54 in 2022 is looking like a fabulous age to be with a number of celebrities looking sensational as they enter their mid-50s.
From Davina McCall to Jenny Powell, Julia Roberts to Kylie Minogue, it would seem that age is a number as they continue to have everlasting youthful looks.
Each and everyone have their own secrets to their success and the following have said how they are looking fabulous at 54.
Jenny Powell
Wheel of Fortune star Jenny Powell has said that she is smaller now than she was when she was in her 20s.
She was looking pretty fabulous in the 1990s, when she was a size 12 but now Jenny says she's dropped to a size 8.
The TV personality has credited bone broth and a passion for yoga as the secrets to her success.
She said: "I’m smaller now. And I certainly wasn’t as flexible. At 20 I was just flailing around – hopping on board the latest craze for six weeks.”
Jenny says regularly drinking boiled bones helps her stay healthy: “It improves my gut health, which leads to improvements in my fitness.”
Davina McCall
Davina McCall has contributed numerous fitness and diet DVDs and videos over her time and there is a reason why she is always so toned.
Speaking to HELLO!, Davina shared what she would eat on a typical day, adding that she is not "restrictive" when she comes to her diet.
The Lost Family presenter said: "I try not to goad the sugar bear. I'm not being all holier than thou by cutting out refined sugar, I'm just trying to help myself because once I start, I can't stop."
Davina told Get The Gloss that she starts the day with a cup of tea with collagen.
She said: "I have the powdered bovine collagen – you can get marine collagen too by Ancient and Brave."
Davina told HELLO! how she follows this: "I would probably have granola and milk for breakfast. But sometimes, if I'm naughty, I'll do a crumpet."
"I try not to eat until after I am finished [with my workout] so sometimes I might not eat breakfast til ten. I will either have one and a half Warburton’s crumpets (two is too many) with butter."
For her 'big' meal of the day, Davina said: "I try to have my main meal at lunch. So usually something like pasta, or a courgetti, or eggs with something."
Davina added: "If I'm making a tomato sauce, I put a teaspoon in there."
Otherwise, she opts for fish, with vegetables and some carbs as a "good, well-rounded meal".
Kylie Minogue
Kylie told the Express in 2017: "I don't really work out, but I'm constantly on the go."
When it does come to working out, Kylie said there is only one choice. She told Star Magazine: "I do Pilates.
"I don't overdo it. I wish I was one of those women who do their exercises first thing in the morning, or run straight to the fitness studio as soon as they get up. But unfortunately, I'm just not that disciplined!"
Speaking on Reddit , Kylie admitted: "My guilty confession is that there isn't [a routine]! In my mind, there is absolutely one. I think I stay in shape with an active lifestyle.
"My fitness is really sporadic. I have to thank my mum for good genes as I am tiny, just like her."
Julia Roberts
Pretty Woman actress Julia Roberts is another who keeps a close eye on her diet, though she admits that there isn't a cookie "I didn't like".
Julia said that she starts the day with homemade granola, seasonal berries and yogurt, or a carrot and banana muffin, and fresh papaya with yogurt."
When it comes to lunch, she would opt for: "Baked artichoke polenta or spinach filo pie with a wheat pilaf."
Dinner could typically be "ginger-crusted salmon with quinoa and Chinese veggies, or sea bass with black-bean salsa and asparagus."
Julia told In Style: "We definitely try to eat mindfully. As I always say to my kids, 'You have to eat the good stuff to get the good stuff.'"
Ashley Judd
Actress Ashley Judd says she maintains her fitness by watching what she eats.
Since hitting 50, her diet has contained lean proteins, healthy fats, and plenty of fruits and vegetables.
Added to this would be oatmeal, wheat bread, brown rice, and sweet potatoes to provide her with nutritious carbohydrates.
Ashley treats herself to a chocolate bar or other delicacies that she enjoys every now and again.
Lisa Bonet
Lisa Bonet appreciates organic and whole foods and particularly enjoys raw foods whenever possible.
The actress said that she avoids any foods that don't offer nutritional elements and has credited yoga for helping heal both her mind and body..
Lisa has also decided to be gluten free as she believes her body can function better without gluten in the system.
Gillian Anderson
Gillian Anderson has said that she trains sporadically but does often use skin creams after fearing that it was "suffering" from neglect.
Speaking to the DaIly Mail, the actress said: “I don't try that hard to stay in shape. I go through stages of yoga a few times a week and throw in some running."
Gillian told New Beauty that she noticed her skin was “suffering” when she was in her 40s.
She made a decision to tackle this and said: "I began to pay more attention to it. I started using a mixture over the years of Clinique and Estee Lauder.”
Gillian said that she is not obsessive about this: "It’s not a huge part of my life, but I’ve began making an attempt to use some of the stuff that’s out there. And you know, I think it works. I think my skin definitely feels better."
Patsy Kensit
Patsy Kensit has said that she has embraced exercises for the mind and soul to help her look good for so long.
She said previously: "What comes from within, your belief in your potential and what you can offer to the world: that is the true beauty of a woman.
"That goes for your mind, soul, diet, exercise, all of these things are very important. It has been a really good thing for me to get into."
The actress said that a solo trip to Thailand helped transform her life.
She said: "I went to Chiva Som to do some meditation and that changed my life completely.
"I practice Yoga Nidra which is a guided meditation. It makes me feel so much better.
"Yoga has never worked for me, I’ve never been able to do the downward dog. I like light weights and running. And what I put in my body I find very important.
"I don’t diet, I just eat clean, fresh and healthy not processed foods. It’s important to take the time for yourself, look in the mirror and love yourself. Be the best you can be for the age that you are at."
