Wealth manager Evelyn Partners has agreed terms for a new office in Glasgow.
The move will physically bring its Glasgow teams together in a single location, supporting wider growth plans in Scotland.
The group formed from the merger of Tilney and Smith & Williamson has roots in Glasgow, with the latter firm having been founded in the city in 1881.
It is taking 30,000 sq ft of space at 177 Bothwell Street, making it the second largest office in the group, after the new headquarters in Gresham Street, London.
Some 350 staff will move into the new premises from two existing office locations in St Vincent Street, while the space will also allow for further expansion and provide meeting facilities for clients.
Evelyn Partners' personal wealth management services include financial planning, investment management and personal tax advice, while for businesses it provides assurance and accounting, business tax advice, employee benefits, forensic advice, fund governance, fund administration, restructuring and transaction services.
Paul Frame, regional managing partner for Scotland and Northern Ireland, commented: “Our new offices will provide a first-class working environment for our staff based in Glasgow and supports our ambitious plans for continued expansion in Scotland.
“The building’s location in the city centre, close to excellent transport links, makes it convenient for our clients to meet with our specialist teams and attend events.”
Neil Coxhead, chief executive of Evelyn Partners’ hos fund administration business, added: “Our host fund administration business has its centre of excellence in Glasgow and the new office allows us to keep pace with our expansion plans.
“177 Bothwell Street will provide a great city centre location and modern working environment for our teams that supplies specialist services to the UK funds industry.”
The group had £52.7bn of assets under management at the end of June, making it the second largest UK wealth manager measured by earnings and the sixth largest professional services firm ranked by fee income.
It has a network of offices across 26 towns and cities in the UK, as well as the Republic of Ireland and the Channel Islands.
