Russian forces have launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine by land, air and sea. This is the biggest attack by one state against another in Europe since World War II. Speaking to FRANCE 24 in an exclusive interview, the EU’s Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell slams Putin as untrustworthy: “After having said so many times that he is not going to invade Ukraine, and doing what he is doing now, it’s certainly not someone that you can trust”.
As the European Union meets to decide sanctions against Moscow for its military operation, the bloc has so far failed to ban Russia from SWIFT payment system. But Borrell remains hopeful. “We decide by unanimity. The unanimity was not reached at that moment, it doesn’t mean it cannot be reached in the future. Everything is on the table.”
