Emmerdale actor Mark Charnock is best known for his role as Marlon Dingle on the ITV soap, he has recently been recognised for his dedication to his role after Marlon suffered a devastating stroke.
The heart-breaking storyline has captured the nation over the past few months and actor Mark has recently won several awards due to his authentic representation of a stroke victim.
And as Emmerdale viewers watch as Marlon adapts to his new life with physical limitations as he continues on the slow and steady road to recovery, actor Mark has spoken of the physical impacts the storyline has had on him in real life too.

Mark revealed that as he has been having to portray the posture of a stroke victim for months on end, as a result he has ended up having troubles with his back and recently had to get checked out.
In an interview with Inside Soap the actor revealed: "I actually had to go and get my back sorted the other day, I'm constantly down on one side playing Marlon.
"Being tall, I've always had back issues, but it finally gave up on me the other day and I had to go and see somebody to sort it. As an actor, you kind of know what you're in for when you sign up for those types of stories. It has been hard, but sort of satisfying."
Mark went on to reveal that despite its challenges the stroke storyline has been "the best story I've ever had." He continued: It's the best story I've ever had – and I've had some belters. As an actor, it's been the biggest challenge I've had by far.
"It was great to be terrified by it because it made me remember how I care so much about the show. I just thought 'I can't let them down now they've given us this', so I tried my best."
