Emmerdale 's Nicky Miligan was panicked during Tuesday's episode of the ITV soap, as a secret flame threatened his big revenge plan once more.
A blast from his past made a second big return, just as he looked set to keep his secret plot against another villager on track.
Nicky's 'friend' Ally returned to the village after realising Nicky was ignoring his calls and messages, and once again he tried to tempt him into spending time with him.
But as Nicky looked set to give into temptation, there was a moment which hinted that Ally may know or may be about to find out exactly what he is up to.
Just weeks ago, viewers learned Faith Dingle's son Caleb Miligan was actually the secret son of former villager, and Kim Tate's ex-husband, Frank Tate.
Not only that, but Home Farm's new nanny Nicky Miligan is Caleb's son, and the pair have teamed up to avenge Frank, and take everything Kim has.
Caleb believes Kim killed Frank and that her fortune actually belonged to his dad, and therefore is rightfully his.
Nicky is currently engaged to Gabby Thomas, the mother of Kim's grandson Thomas - but fans know he is only using her for Thomas' inheritance.
In the latest episode, there was a possible problem yet again when Nicky's secret lover Ally returned to the village and caused trouble.
He secretly met up with Gabby, just moments after being confronted by Nicky in the village.
As he and Gabby got talking, and shared some booze, Ally was seen smirking as an alarmed Nicky walked in and found them together.
But just a scene earlier, Nicky was shown saying to Ally that he was risking everything.
Nicky hinted to Ally he was up to something, and his comment about Ally possibly ruining everything for him could have been a major hint that Nicky planned to tell all about his and Caleb's plan for Gabby and Kim.
Ally appeared to pull a face before the scene ended, and he was next seen with Gabby - so is this a major hint Nicky did tell him the truth, and he now knows what Nicky is planning?
If this is the case, is the following scene of him and Gabby talking a sign that Ally could turn against Nicky and expose him to Gabby?
It comes after fans recently discovered the true identity of Ally, and his link to Nicky. Nicky met up with him after receiving calls and messages from the mystery character.
It's then that more emerged about their relationship, and a scene in particular confirmed what Nicky had been hiding.
As Ally hinted Gabby wasn't his type, he asked: "What the hell are you playing at? Your wedding is a sham, you know it and I know it."
Nicky told him: "I'm not playing anything," before the pair shared a steamy kiss as the episode came to an end.
The moment revealed Ally was an ex or maybe even a current flame of Nicky's and that was why he was confused over his wedding to Gabby.
Executive Producer Jane Hudson recently teased the truth about Nicky and Caleb could soon come out though.
Speaking to The Mirror and other press, she said: "Soon, very, very soon. There is not long to go, it will be after the Coronation but before the soap week."
Jane is thought to have been referring to the big week the soap normally has in October, while the show also tends to have a big week before the British Soap Awards too, in May or June.
It wasn't exactly clear which week she was referring to, meaning the truth could come out any time between the middle of May to the middle of October.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
