Emmerdale spoilers for next week have revealed there's some news about missing Jamie Tate that shocks one resident on the ITV soap.
Earlier this year, Gabby Thomas and Dawn Taylor made the startling discovery that Jamie was most likely alive - after he faked his death in September 2021.
Will Taylor was let in on the secret last week, after a case of mistaken identity led to Gabby accidentally shooting him.
It was believed Jamie was back and alive, after last year's car crash, and Will soon asked his ex Harriet Finch to do some looking into the matter.
The police officer was shocked by Will's suggestion Jamie had survived, while he wasn't entirely sure it could be believed.
Deciding not to tell his partner Kim Tate, Jamie's mother, for the time being he sought help from Harriet to find out if it was true.
Next week though, Gabby starts to doubt her fears about Jamie as she realises she might have been mistaken all along.
Starting to worry she was wrong about Jamie being alive, she fears she may have got Will involved for no good reason.
After learning the evidence that Jamie could be back might not actually stack up, Will decides to tell Harriet in case she's been sent on a wild goose chase for no reason.
But Harriet soon drops a bombshell that could change everything.
She finds Will and tells him some surprising information that leaves him stunned and unsure what to do.
Harriet confesses that Gabby might have been right, and that she might have found evidence that proves Jamie is alive after all.
What will the characters do with this information though, and is it time Kim found out that her dead son might actually be alive?
Viewers have been predicting Jamie will make a return, and that it could air during the ITV soap's 50th anniversary episodes later this year, in October.
The cast have teased previously that it might not be the end of the Jamie plot, and that Kim could find out what has really been going on.
Viewers will just have to stay tuned to find out what happens next, and if Jamie really does return to the village.
