“Operations control immediately mobilised two fire engines to the location and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire. There were no reports of any casualties.

“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”

A Police Scotland spokesman confirmed the incident with us, saying "there were no reports of any injuries".

One local businessman told us : "The flat above the takeaway was smoking and there was an ambulance on scene.
