One of the great debates in human history is whether or not we have been visited by intelligent life forms from other planets.
And one Edinburgh resident feels as though they have evidence of a UFO flying above the skies of Scotland’s capital.
Melanie Gorrian, was walking to the shops with her sister at precisely 9:36pm on Boxing Day when she believes she spotted a strange light hovering in the sky.

She says that it stayed in the sky in front of them on Stevenson Drive for six minutes.
On the encounter, she said: “I was walking to the shops and spotted the UFO.
“We managed to spot it at 9:36pm on Monday December 26 and were able to film it from Stevenson Drive.
“It stayed in the sky until like 9:42pm - it was so cool to see a UFO.
“I think the UFO was coming to visit us.”
In the video shared with Edinburgh Live, a small light can be seen hovering in the distance, but the mystery remains as to what object the light belonged to.
