A number of trains have been cancelled in Edinburgh due to flooding on major city lines.
ScotRail issued an update to passengers on Thursday afternoon (September 8), after heavy rain began causing chaos in the city centre.
In an urgent message, the travel operator announced on social media that heavy flooding in the capital has closed two of the four lines between Edinburgh Waverley and Haymarket.

With the two major stations only able to now receive a limited number of trains through, ScotRails stated that a series of routes have now been cancelled.
As of 1pm, no trains are running between Edinburgh and West Calder as well as Edinburgh and Bathgate. Edinburgh and Dunblane trains are running, but only between Edinburgh and Stirling.

An update from ScotRail said: "Flooding in Edinburgh has closed two of the four lines between Edinburgh Waverley and Haymarket. This is severely limiting the number of trains that can run.
"There's no trains running between Edinburgh & West Calder, nor between Edinburgh & Bathgate. Our Edinburgh - Dunblane trains can run, but only between Edinburgh & Stirling."
