One of Edinburgh's busiest streets has been closed to traffic due to an ongoing incident involving a collision between a bus and a pedestrian.
Princes Street, which sees thousands of people pass by each day, is currently closed off to vehicles due to the incident, with Police Scotland issuing an update, as well as major bus and tram routes being affected.
The incident, which occurred before 11am on Tuesday, May 17, is understood to have halted traffic east bound, all the way to the west end.

One passer-by told Edinburgh Live: "Traffic heading east bound on Princes Street has stopped, queues the length of Princes Street all the way to west end, it is believed a lady was hit by a bus or tram.
"She was getting oxygen and looks in good health. The police and ambulance are in attendance (at least 5 cars and too Lothian bus vans also"
Edinburgh Police issued a statement on Twitter regarding the incident, advising road users to avoid the area for the time being.
They said: "Princes Street is currently closed to traffic following a collision between a bus and a pedestrian. Emergency services are at the scene. Road users are urged to avoid the area."
Lothian Buses also issued an update as a number of services that pass through the busy street may face diversions.
They said: "Due to a road closure at Princes Street at Waverley Steps buses are unable to serve Princes Street and are instead diverted via South St David Street, York Place and London Road eastbound only until further notice."
The list of affected services at the moment are the 1, 4, 16, 19, 22, 25, 34, 44, 104, 106, 113, 124 and the X7. Various other services may also face delays due to the incident, as well as those using Edinburgh Trams.
