Edinburgh residents reported hearing a loud bang as a bin was set on fire on Monday evening.
Firefighters arrived at the scene on Coates Gardens, near Haymarket, to extinguish the fire that one eyewitness reported was "well alight" before being put out in a matter of minutes.
A picture from the scene shows one fire appliance parked at the bottom of the street with smoke still pouring out of the large black bin.

Before the photo was captured, the eyewitness reported seeing flames and heard a loud bang before looking out their window and down the street.
They said: "Fire at the end of Coates Gardens just now. Looks like it was just outside the bin - was well alight seconds before I took the photo.
"Something went bang so we looked outside to see where the noise came from."
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue confirmed that the fire stemmed from a bin and that crews had it under control in a matter of minutes.
They added: "We responded to a bin fire on Coates Gardens at 21:19 and arrived at 21:25. Crews had the fire under control by 21:29.
"There were two appliances deployed, an extra one due to the nearby tramworks, but one is usually enough for a bin fire."
The area is located just off Haymarket Terrace and just a few minutes away from Haymarket Station.
