Edinburgh police officers responded to an incident at one of the capital's plushest city centre hotels after receiving a call during the early hours of the morning.
Cops arrived at the Balmoral Hotel, on Princes Street, at 1am this morning, April 14, responding to a cause for concern call involving two children.
Although the exact situation is currently unclear, Police Scotland confirmed that they left the building after ensuring that the children's welfare was safe.

Suspicions were raised after a police vehicle was spotted outside the historic hotel in the capital's city centre.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1am on Thursday, 14 April, police received a report of concern for two children at a hotel on Princes Street, Edinburgh.
"Enquiries were carried out and the children's welfare was confirmed. Suitable advice was provided to all parties involved."
Known for being a popular celebrity hotspot, the Balmoral Hotel has seen many a familiar face throughout the years, as some of its most luxurious suites within the huge Victorian building appear nicer than some of Edinburgh's finest properties.
Over the years the Edinburgh hotel has welcomed the likes of Elizabeth Taylor, Paul McCartney, Michael Palin, and Sophia Loren and the Queen Mother was a regular visitor.
The Glamis Suite, named after the Scottish castle and the childhood home of The Queen Mother, was refurbished in 2019 and oozes luxury, as it appears as majestic as the name sounds.
The Balmoral Hotel have also been contacted for comment by Edinburgh Live.
