Edinburgh Airport have shared an important update on the projected queue lengths through security on Monday evening, with a 40-60 minute wait expected for passengers.
Recently, the airport have started adding four daily updates on queue times on their social media channels, making it easier for passengers to plan ahead and let them know what they can expect before arriving.
Airports all over the UK have been experiencing staffing issues as a result of the pandemic, with the start of the holiday season looming and queue times expected to increase.

Adding a 5pm update on Monday evening, June 6, they tweeted: "Security queue update - 1700 As of a few minutes ago the time to get through security from first joining the queue was 40-60 minutes.
"We are very busy, and queues are longer than we would like. It's important you have properly prepared for security."

Passengers are being repeatedly reminded arrive on time at the airport and not hours ahead of their flight, as queues have been pictured outside of the main airport building in recent days due to the influx of passengers arriving early in the morning.
Similar scenes are being reported nationwide, with the addition of airlines cancelling and delaying flights adding to the ongoing issue.
On Thursday, June 2, Edinburgh Airport released an statement regarding their new method of informing passengers of projected queue times. They said: "From tomorrow we'll be sharing regular security queue times on our social media channels.
"Updates at 5am, 9am, 1pm and 5pm will measure how long it takes for someone at the back of the queue to complete the security process.
"This is different to the tracker which appears on our website - this measures the queue time inside the security hall once passengers have passed through the e-gate."
Whilst replying a Twitter user about people arriving four hours early, they responded: "As we said above, we're recommending people to arrive once their check in is open, NOT before - this adds to waits and congestion."
