Eddie Izzard has introduced her new feminine name which she has wanted to use since she was 10 years old. The comedian and aspiring MP revealed she now alternates between her original name and a new moniker but says people can choose which name they want to address her by.
The gender-fluid performer was interviewed on Matt Forde’s Political Party podcast on Monday and she shared her new name during the chat. "I’m gonna be Suzy Eddie Izzard," the 61-year-old announced.
"I’ll put Suzy there and then Eddie and then people can choose what they want and no one can go wrong! I’ve wanted to be S, U, Z, Y since I was 10.

"That’s how I’m gonna roll so people can choose what they want, they can’t make a mistake, they can’t go wrong."
Eddie then joked: "I make mistakes with my own pronouns."
The comedian is yet to discuss the new announcement on her social media channels herself.
Elsewhere in the conversation, which took place in London's Covent Garden, Izzard discussed her bid to become selected as a Labour MP and the reaction from some. She said: "Some people have been transphobic when I was going for the [MP] selection, coming out as trans was not easy back in 1985…
"I don’t know [how many genders there are], we’re all somewhere on the spectrum, we have just got to chill out about it."
In 2017, she told the Hollywood Reporter: "I am essentially transgender. I have boy mode and girl mode. I do feel I have boy genetics and girl genetics."
Izzard has been known for decades for her fashion and style on stage and television, to which she has said: "They’re not women’s clothes. They’re my clothes. I bought them."
