EastEnders' dog Bronson will die in weeks without treatment as owners plead for help

A family dog who appeared in EastEnders will die in weeks if he doesn't receive treatment. The Bullmastiff Staffordshire Terrier cross is known to millions as Bronson during his time on screen with the Taylor family.

Yet, he is in desperate need of a life saving operation. Bronson, who's real name is Cyprus, hit screens in 2017 as the Taylor's family dog and appeared in dozens of episodes.

In an emotional scene in 2021, Bronson was killed off when his family were told to have him put down. Bronson appeared on EastEnders with his on-screen family as well as the others including Kush Kazemi and Denise Fox.

In real life, Cyprus is owned by Caroline. She has launched an online fundraiser in the hopes of reaching a £20,000 target. It will pay for Cyrpus' treatment.

Bronson was the Taylor's family dog in BBC soap EastEnders (BBC)

It comes after a brain tumour was discovered on Cyprus. Caroline told The Sun, it is now a "race against time" to save the dog.

She said: "The thought of losing him is heartbreaking. It’s utterly gut-wrenching. He has been suffering seizures but I was told they were nothing to worry about. I asked for a second opinion and we have been given this shocking diagnosis."

Caroline has already spent all of her existing funds on tests and getting the diagnosis. "He has been suffering seizures but I was told they were nothing to worry about. I asked for a second opinion and we have been given this shocking diagnosis," explained Caroline.

She says she knows the treatment "doesn't come cheap" so is asking people for help. Cyrpus' owner has been calling out to fans of EastEnders for help.

Bronson was put to sleep following an illness due to old age on the soap (BBC)

Fans of the BBC soap were left teary eyed as they witnessed Bronson's death unfold in 2021. The dog was taken to the vets after being sick, and the Taylors soon learned he was seriously unwell.

The vet had suggested the best thing for him would be to put him to sleep and told mum Karen and stepsister Bailey that the dog was struggling to breathe. Bronson's ill health was due to his age.

The dog had been with the Taylors ever since they moved to Walford in 2017.

Over £1,000 has already been raised for Cypus' treatment. You can donate to the GoFundMe page here.
