Eagle-eyed Corrie fans thinks they've clocked upcoming affair storyline as shock separation rocks the street

Leanne Battersby and Nick Tilsley have run into fresh turmoil on the Coronation Street cobbles following a terrifying gun siege. Leanne has been fuming with her partner over his involvement with villain Damon Hay, who has been blackmailing Nick into run drugs through the Viaduct Bistro.

There was horror in Weatherfield on Monday night as two masked men rushed into the bistro demanding drugs, with Nick's young son Sam inside. Nick and Leanne rushed to the scene to protect Sam as Damon grabbed the gunman and pinned him down. Eventually he wriggled free and the two men legged it.

Damon forced Nick to take his drugs package home for the night and revealed he'd known he had rivals, which had led to the dangerous situation. Back at home Leanne was horrified when Nick explained that he still had the drugs.

In Wednesday's episode (February 8) Leanne was told that two men had been arrested over the siege. After Leanne called Nick and told him to get rid of the drugs. he Damon to pick them up or he’d dispose of them down the toilet.

Having placed the holdall of drugs in the boot, Damon climbs into his car, but suddenly police swooped and Leanne rounded the corner to see PC Craig Tinker arresting Damon. Later, in heartbreaking scenes, Sam was told that Damon was not the nice man he thought he was and was really a drug dealer and the brother of drugs lord Harvey Gaskell, who had shot and killed Sam's mum Natasha in October 2021.

Sam asked his dad and Leanne not to lie as he asked how long they had known his identity. Leanne said she had known for a couple of days, while Nick admitted to his son he had known for longer.

Sam coolly asked his dad to leave and Leanne, played by Jane Danson, agreed that some time apart would do them good, leaving some fans thinking that she might spark up an affair with bistro waiter Ryan Connor, played by Ryan Prescott.

Earlier the pair had a heart-to-heart in the bistro after Ryan, who also works as a DJ, was caught up in the siege and was left traumatised. "I'm going to die a waiter in Weatherfield," he said tearfully. "I'm going to die 10 minutes from where I was born." Leanne reassured him: "Everybody loves you."

Viewers pressed 'like' as @DavidBoink took to Twitter to ask: "Leanne & Ryan. Possible." And @terrettcorey asked: "A Leanne and Ryan affair?"

@penniless_poet tweeted: "Aw Ryan - someone adopt him and take him on holiday." And @RyanTheSoapking approved: "I like how Leanne comes across like a mother figure to Ryan especially as Michelle and Leanne didn't always see eye to eye."
