As we approach the end of the FIFA 23, EA Sports FC is well and truly on the horizon, and it's almost time for the EA FC 24 Closed Beta.
FIFA 23 will be the final instalment in the EA Sports' FIFA series, with the publisher confirming earlier this year that it would end its 30-year partnership with FIFA. But don't worry, we're getting a brand new series called EA Sports FC instead, and we are now starting to receive our first bits of information about the first new title in the series, with leaks suggesting it will be named EA FC 24.
In a recent La Liga presentation David Jackson, VP of Brand at EA Sports, delved into what we can expect to see gameplay-wise, confirming EA FC 24 will be powered by the all-new HyperMotion V technology. The EA FC 24 release date has also been leaked ahead of the official announcement, with the leak reportedly confirming that the game will be released in late September this year, similar to past FIFA title launch windows.
EA tends to release a Closed Beta before the official release of its new football games, allowing a handful of lucky players to access the game before anyone else, and EA FC 24 is expected to follow suit. Doing this allows EA to fix any issues or problems before the release, hopefully giving players the best game possible when released.
Here's when we expect the EA FC 24 closed beta to be released and how you can give yourself the best chance of receiving an access code.
EA Sports FC closed beta start date
We expect that the EA FC 24 closed beta could go live on or around August 10, 2023, with access codes being sent out on August 1, 2023 and another batch on August 8, 2023. Don't worry if you aren't sent an access code when the first batch is released, with the second batch of codes usually sent out around a week after the first.
Based on past FIFA releases, the closed beta usually becomes available to access around mid-August, where access codes are sent out to selected players in waves prior to it becoming available to play.
Reliable leaker @ALumia_Italia has also seemingly revealed the size files of the closed beta for Xbox consoles, with the EA FC 24 beta coming in at 41.57GB on Xbox Series X and 39.23GB on Xbox One. There's no information on Xbox Series S, PS4 and PS5 yet, but we expect it will be a similar size.
EA Sports FC closed beta access
To give yourself the best chance of acquiring a code to access the EA FC 24 closed beta, there are some steps you need to follow. The first and most important step is to give EA consent to contact you via email, otherwise, it will not be able to send you a code. If you haven't already given EA consent or are not sure if you have, you can find this option in the 'Email Preferences' tab in your EA Account settings on EA.com.
Make sure you tick the box which allows EA to email you about products, news, events and promotions. On this tab, there will be a preferred games section.
Make sure that you've selected FIFA titles and you've selected your preferred platform at the bottom, then click update. Yes, EA FC 24 isn't technically a FIFA title, but making past FIFA titles your preferred game could help your chances.
You must also make sure that your Xbox Live or PSN account is linked to your EA Sports account. This can be found in the 'Connections' tab in your EA Account Settings. There are some requirements that mean only certain people can receive an invite, even if you've completed all the above steps. The requirements are as follows:
- Players must be at least 18 years old
- Your Xbox/PS account must be from the UK or North America
- You must have a working internet connection
- You need an active subscription to either Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus
The EA FC 24 closed beta will likely only be available in English, meaning only players from the UK and North America can receive invites. Only invited players can access EA FC 24 early, and your code cannot be shared, so if you're offered a beta code for a fee, don't accept.
