Officers in Dumfries are encouraging young people to join their Police Scotland Youth Volunteers programme.
They are looking for 13 to 15-year-olds who may want to volunteer to help their local community and have an interest in policing.
To apply visit http://psyv.org.
In the meantime, Area Commander for Dumfriesshire, Chief Inspector Robin Ferguson, attended at Dumfries PSYV training evening last week.
The Youth Volunteers presented to him their “No Knives Better Lives” project with each taking a turn at presenting their ideas and were very impressive. The Dumfries PSYV thanked CI Ferguson for taking the time out to meet them.
