A Dumfries man is organising his fourth football charity match – this time in aid of SANDS.
Aydn Jackson is putting two teams together to play a friendly on May 1.
The game will take place at the David Keswick Athletic Centre and everyone will be invited to the Lochside Club afterwards for a presentation and a chance to win some raffle prizes.
Adyn, 23, said: “The response has been brilliant and I’ve had great support from the local community.”
His grandad, dad and uncle are all taking part in the match.
Adyn added: “My mum, sister, my partner and grandmother are all helping with the event.”
The money will be donated to SANDS, a charity which supports anyone in Dumfries and Galloway who is affected by the death of a baby, either during pregnancy or soon after birth.
Aydn said: “It is quite close to my heart. I know people that have had miscarriages and stillborns. I know that the SANDS helped them a lot and it is a big issue people are facing so I want to help and raise as much money as possible for this cause.”
He said: “The last time I organised a football match I have managed to raise £1,889. I want to make this SANDS fundraiser my best thus far and any support will be appreciated.”
