Dublin Fire Brigade has paid tribute to a recently retired station officer through touching posts on social media.
Mr Lanigan, who served in D Watch at Donnybrook Fire Station, retired after three successful decades assisting the people of Dublin. His colleagues took to the fire station to celebrate his achievements and wished him well in his future endeavours.
Several snaps of Mr Lanigan were uploaded to Dublin Fire Brigade's Twitter and Instagram accounts. The former station officer was pictured alongside a host of his uniformed colleagues in front of a fire truck.

People congratulated Mr Lanigan on social media and thanked him for his hard work in keeping local communities safe. His colleagues also responded to the posts, describing him as a "perfect gentleman" with a great sense of humour.
One person wrote on Instagram: "Happy retirement Dave. Thank you for your service to the people of Dublin."
A former colleague wrote: "It was a pleasure working with you Dave over the years. The very best of luck for a long and happy retirement."
