Dublin beach to host 5k walk and swim charity initiative on International Women's Day

A charity 5k walk followed by a swim is set to take place on Portmarnock Beach for International Women's Day.

The event, which will take place on Saturday, March 5, will raise funds for Women’s Aid - a charity that offers support to women and children facing domestic violence.

Online health and beauty store, Healthy Buzz has teamed up with Soul 2 Sole, Dublin Dippers, Portmarnock Sink or Swim, Dr. Bronner’s Ireland, Denise Inspired, SoSad Ireland, and Suicide Awareness D15 as part of this fantastic initiative.

A GoFundMe page has been launched where you can donate to Women’s Aid.

Additionally, you can also buy a pink hat on the Healthy Buzz website - all profits of which will go to Women’s Aid.

You can also snag a pink hat at 5k walk and swim event at Portmarnock beach on Saturday.

Ruth Irwin, founder of Healthy Buzz Ireland says: "We are hosting this event in honour of International Women’s Day which is celebrated on 8th March every year.

"In the light of recent incidents, we are holding our event on 5th March Saturday on Portmarnock Beach to support Women’s Aid and celebrate women everywhere and rejoice life.

"We will meet at 9am for a 5k walk/run followed by a swim."

International Women's Day is set to take place on March 8 and the theme for this year is to "End Violence Against Women".
