Dublin Airport is set to hire more staff after what was described as one of its best bank holiday weekends.
Over 400,000 passengers went through Dublin Airport and check-in times were as low as 25 minutes during certain periods over the last four days. daa spokesman Graeme McQueen said the airport will be recruiting 50 additional staff in the hopes of improving the wait times even further.
Speaking to FM104, he said: "Numbers now are in and around where we were in 2019. We’re not going to stop there.

"Over the course of this month, we hope to hire around 50 more additional staff. That’s going to put us in a good place for the rest of the summer and the rest of the year.
"So that should give anyone flying out over the course of 2022 a bit of confidence that you’re going to see a much-improved performance at Dublin Airport."
The airport is still advising passengers flying short-haul to arrive 2.5 hours before departure and 3.5 hours for long-haul flights with an additional hour if they're checking in a bag. Last week, Aer Lingus called on the airport to scrap its early arrival advice for passengers.
Aer Lingus CEO Lynne Embleton said the advice was causing "unnecessary congestion" as passengers arriving early for flights later in the day were competing with those dropping off luggage for early morning departures. But daa said the advice will remain in place until the time is right.
