Children have been topping up their pocket money with a savvy trick at Leeds Festival.
On Saturday (August 27) a number of parents were spotted bringing their children along to enjoy the music, glitter face paint, and free McDonald’s fries.
However four children realised they can make money as well. They realised if you hand in your paper cups during the festival you get 10p in return.
Family friends Louisa and Anabelle were spotted running around the festival trying to find as many cups as they could find.
One man branded them “future Dragon’s Den candidates”. “You’ve never seen two little girls so determined.”
Speaking to Leeds Live, Annabelle, who beamed with pride as she held her cups said: “We want it to be the tallest tower.”
Louise added: “We’re not sure how many cups we have collected but we’ve made £38 so far.” She added she isn’t sure how she will spend the money just yet.
But the pair may have some competition as Poppy and Archie who were at the festival with their family had been busy collecting cups to earn some money too.
Poppy said she has “about 50 cups” in her stack. She’s saving up to have lots of pennies.
Leeds Live want to know if you have also been collecting cups at the festival - send us pictures of your towers via our inbox.
