Rising Covid cases have led to Dr Hilary Jones giving a stark warning on national television. Appearing on ITV's Good Morning Britain on Wednesday, March 23, the TV doctor addressed the current Covid-19 situation on the two year anniversary since the government announced the first lockdown back in 2020.
Cases are continuing to rise across the country, as well as hospitalisations and deaths, and Dr Hilary urged people to remain vigilant in the wake of rising case numbers and warned the pandemic isn't over yet, Liverpool Echo reports.
He said: "This has been a dreadful, global infection which is still continuing. Cases are rising now.

"They are rising due to the Omicron variant - which is more transmissible and less severe. There may be other variants coming. We can't be complacent. Hospitalisations are increasing so death rates are up by 17 per cent as well. We need to be vigilant. Wales are thinking of extending their restrictions because of a surge of cases there right now."
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV and ITV Hub
