Since returning from a meniscus injury in Week 8, Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey seems to be playing at the top of his game.
He’s not getting targeted frequently, and when he is, he’s competitive with wideouts. He’s either right there with the wide receiver, or he’s taking the ball himself.
In Sunday’s action against the Las Vegas Raiders, Ramsey recorded two interceptions, including one that sealed the game as rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell was driving with a chance to tie it or take the lead.
Ramsey’s effort has caught the eye of his teammate, wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who raved about the cornerback after the game.
“He’s a dawg,” “He’s the best cornerback in the league. But for him to be able to go against two of the best receivers in the league that also helps too, me and (Jaylen) Waddle. We go tit for tat with that man. But, the way he laid out for that last pass goes to show how much he cares about this team. Because a lot of guys, they’ll knock it down and say ‘Ah, I could land weird.’ But, the way he just laid out for his team it just really shows how he cares about his brothers. And, I said that on the sideline. I’m like, ‘Bro, this dude’s next level.’ For him to be an All-Pro each and every year, for him to be able to make all this money, he’s still out there going 110 miles an hour. He’s the same way at practice too, though. I love it. I’m glad we’re on the same side.”
Miami’s defense finally seems to have come together with their stars healthy, and they should be able to compete with almost any offense that they’ll face for the rest of the year. And, a lot of that is due to Ramsey’s presence.
