Let’s review this bad beat, because this tends to happen when a team is down to its final seconds and hopes for a miracle: The Philadelphia Eagles were down 26-21 to the Washington Commanders on Monday, with just second to go in their own end. Jalen Hurts threw a pass to Quez Watkins, who lateraled to DeVonta Smith … who tried to throw it backwards as he was being tackled.
The ball found the ground and went right into the hands of Casey Toohill, who ran it in for a touchdown.
Smith lost yardage on the play AND was credited with the fumble. People lost money and their fantasy games because of it:
