Depop shopper gobsmacked as order arrives in loo roll wrapper - but seller hits back

When you order something online you might be concerned with how it will fare in the post and hope that it gets to you in the best condition possible. But one thing you might not have on your mind is the packaging the order comes in. For one customer of the second-hand platform Depop, this was all they could think about after finding that the jumper they had ordered was sent in a Waitrose loo roll wrapper, which left them shocked and confused.

The shopper had ordered a white jumper and was excited to receive her buy, but was left she shocked by the seller's unusual choice of packaging.

Although the jumper fit perfectly into the supermarket's pack of nine loo roll packaging, the customer kicked up a fuss.

On the front of the packaging there was even a bowel cancer awareness campaign that provided information on the symptoms for the disease.

In a direct message to the seller, the customer thanked them for the jumper but mocked them for their bizarre recycling choice.

They wrote: "Thanks for the jumper but I'd appreciate you not posting it in a toilet wrapper next time."

But the seller wrote back and asked what the issue was as their wrapping choice was perfectly clean and fit the product.

Many other customers who spotted the exchange were left laughing after reading about the wrapping choice but felt it was a good choice and healthier for the environment.

One shopper joked: "Waitrose in this economy is luxury, consider yourself lucky."

"What's the tissue," another jibed.

A different shopper argued: "If someone sent me that I'd just think it was a clever way to reuse packaging."

While another customer said: "Seller just wants the buyer to know the early signs of bowl cancer I rate it."

"Reuse reduce recycle babe," said another shopper supporting the cause.

However, shopper Zara said: "Desperate times. Would never send it in bog roll packaging."
