Days of the dodgy second-hand car dealer could be coming to an end under new government plans to regulate the rogue traders.
Consumers will from now on be able to check the NCT history of any second-hand car they wish to buy on an online resource.
It will provide further transparency and will help buyers know more about what they're buying.
And it will make it harder for sellers to pull the wool over a buyer's eyes when it comes to secondhand cars.
If the seller doesn't comply with his side, buyers are advised to shop elsewhere.
The new law change will be brought to Cabinet by Minister for Transport and Green Party leader, Eamon Ryan on Tuesday morning.
A source close to Mr Ryan told the Irish Mirror: "One of the amendments to the Road Traffic and Roads Bill that Eamon Ryan is bringing to cabinet on Tuesday would be to allow the Road Safety Authority to provide car owners with online access to their NCT data.
"The change would also allow prospective buyers of second hand cars to view the information if the seller was willing to share it with them.
"This would allow them to make a more informed decision when buying a used car.
"There is no issue around data protection as no personal data is being shared by the owner.
"The proposed amendment will be outlined by Minister Ryan to Cabinet on Tuesday."
