David Martindale reckons injured top scorer Bruce Anderson may still be able to play a part in his sides Premiership run-in.
Anderson sustained an ankle injury in training earlier this month.
The Livingston boss had originally feared Anderson would be out for the season after he missed a 2-0 defeat to Hearts prior to the international break.
Martindale admits he is now more optimistic about the strikers return, stating there could be an outside chance Anderson is on the pitch again this season.
“He is actually progressing really well,” Martindale said. “I was there when the injury happened and I saw it and I thought he had no chance of making (his return before) the end of the season.
“The physio is not going to thank me for this but I am looking at it and I am seeing where Brucie is. He is walking well, the swelling is down and his range of movement is good."
The Lions are vying to secure a top six finish with two games remaining before the league split.
“Obviously we have not put any pressure on that, he has not been out running on the park but I think that will maybe come next week", Martindale added.
“He is healing a lot quicker than I thought he would heal and there is maybe an outside chance we could see Brucie back on the park before the end of the season.”
