Daughter of missing Dublin woman Bernadette Connolly trying to 'stay strong' as search enters sixth week

The daughter of Bernadette Connelly has said she is trying to "keep her head high" as the search for the missing Dublin woman approaches its sixth week.

Jade Connolly said her family "are doing all they can" to locate the 49-year-old who was last seen on January 7.

Bernadette had left her own parents' house in Swords Manor and travelled by taxi to the Shoreline Hotel in Donabate where she arrived just before midday.

CCTV showed the mother-of-one in the car park of the hotel in north Dublin at 11.50am on the day she went missing.

Earlier this month, new CCTV images emerged showing Bernadette on Donabate beach eight minutes after she is believed to have taken a photograph of the local scenery with her mobile phone.

At an appeal for information from the public recently gardai issued CCTV footage showing her at the hotel car park walking towards the beach wearing a black Nike training top, black Nike leggings, black trainers with a white sole, and a black woolly hat with black bobble.

Her jacket, and a bag she had with her, were later found at the other end of the beach towards Malahide, and an examination of the phone showed it was used to take a photograph of the coast at 12.38pm.

Jade Connolly has been tirelessly appealing for help in finding her mother, and issued an update on Tuesday.

She said: "Hi guys, thanks for all of the lovely messages and checking in to see how I am.

"I am doing OK. The first few weeks of this were very intense (still is) but I needed to take some time to myself and be with my grandparents.

"We are all taking it day by day and doing all we can.

"A lovely man told me before, 'Jade, at some time in life we all have a cross to bear', and this is mine.

"I continue to keep my head high and stay strong for her. We miss her so much."

Bernadette is described as 5' 6" in height with a slim build, hazel eyes and long black hair.

Gardai continue to appeal to anyone with any information on Bernadette’s whereabouts to contact Swords Garda Station 01 666 4700, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
