A dad, his daughter and her teenage friend have been tragically killed in a horror car crash as they returned from a birthday party.
The accident happened on Saturday night as they were returning from a celebratory birthday party in Curitiba, Brazil.
Braulio dos Santos Silva, 54, his daughter Evelyn dos Santos Silva, 20, and her friend Kesya Cristina Araujo dos Santos, 19, were on their way back from a bar when the tragedy happened.
They had been celebrating Keysa's birthday when the car Braulio was driving smashed into a tree.
The impact was so severe that one of the young women was thrown from the vehicle, said the Fire Brigade.
A fireman told local media: "We arrived at the scene with our teams and the doctor, but the victims were already dead.
"It was a high-intensity collision. We have no way of saying if they were wearing a seatbelt."
The Volkswagen Golf was left completely mangled, while tire marks on the tarmac suggest Braulio had tried to brake.
It is not clear if he was drunk behind the wheel, but police said there was no evidence of other motorists' involvement.
The victims were buried in Curitiba in the southern Brazilian state of Paraná on Monday.
Evelyn's cousin and Braulio's niece Daiane Hoiniack told local media: "Evelyn was a joker and friendly and my uncle was a super father.
"He gave her everything she wanted, he was always with her. She was his little princess."
In an earlier tragedy at least 10 people died after a bus fell from a bridge in Brazil.
The vehicle, thought to be a tour bus, is thought to have fallen from a height of 50ft (15m) near a railway line in Brazil's municipality of Joao Monlevade at about 1.30pm.
Emergency services attended the at scene, with at least 30 people reportedly injured, the Daily Star reported.
It is yet unknown how many people were on board the bus, but authorities said not all passengers had been rescued.
The truck, it is believed, may also have been involved in the collision which injured around 30.
The wounded, who were taken to regional hospitals in the area but there was no information about those who had yet to be rescued from the smash.
Minas Gerais Fire Department spokesman Pedro Aihara told CNN: "There is no information on the itinerary. Not all (the victims) have been rescued yet.”
The Mirror also reported how in November 2020 a separate incident happened on the outskirts of Taguai, 347 km west of Sao Paulo, at around 7am on Wednesday morning were by G1 GloboNews.
Firefighters told the media outlet that at least 40 employees from a textile company were travelling on the bus when it was involved in the accident
