Coronation Streets Faye Windass is set to be making an emotional exit from the show in the coming weeks.
Ellie Leach, who plays Faye, will be leaving the cobbled streets behind for the last time - however, she won't be killed off, which keeps a window of opportunity for her to return in the future.
The actress' exit was reported last month, and it was thought that producers were plotting a huge storyline for the star's departure.
A source said: "Ellie’s been on the soap since she was 10 years old so it’s all she’s known, she sees the cast like an extension of her family. She’s sad to be leaving, but grateful that her character won’t be killed off," reports Dorset Echo.
"She’s going to have a go at trying other acting roles for a bit."
Faye's final weeks are set to see her make a big decision as she chooses whether to rekindle with ex-Jackson or stick with Craig.
It comes as this week on Coronation Street, there's, unfortunately, more trauma on the cards for Amy as she spots Aaron's ex Mia at the garage and tells her that he raped her.
Mia is shocked but accuses Amy of lying and making it up.
Drama unfolds with the pair, and Aaron's name is dragged through the mud, whilst DS Swain stops by to tell Amy a serious allegation has been made against her.
Elsewhere in the ITV soap, Daniel urges Daisy to tell Ryan the truth about Crystal. Daisy visits Ryan however, he tells her that he doesn't need her pity when he’s got real friends like Crystal who genuinely care about him.
