One day after the New York Giants defeated the Washington Commanders on Sunday Night Football, several players, led by quarterback Taylor Heinicke let off some steam as guests of the NHL’s Washington Capitals.
Joining Heinicke were rookie running back Brian Robinson Jr., left tackle Charles Leno, center Chase Roullier, punter Tress Way and a host of others for some old-fashioned fun, rooting for the Caps against the Detroit Red Wings.

Heinicke is known to enjoy a good beer, and he was center stage among his teammates with a beer in hand on Monday night.
Heinicke, in his retro Tom Wilson jersey, chugs a beer, smashes it on the side of his head and rallies the crowd.

And you wonder why his teammates love this guy?
Of course, per the usual, you had those on social media questioning Heinicke’s lack of commitment for having a night out after a difficult loss.
It’s truly amazing how an underdog such as Heinicke can draw the ire of so many people when he’s over .500 as a starting quarterbck for Washington. How many former Washington passers can say the same? Many of whom made a lot more money than Heinicke.
The Commanders have a short week this week, as they travel to the west coast this week for a Saturday game against the 49ers.
