More households across the UK are set to receive energy bill support. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has announced the full list of areas and postcodes, which are entitled to receive £25 in order to help them pay their bills amid the cost of living crisis.
The scheme, which runs from November 1 until March 31, means that households will get a payment if the average temperature in their area is recorded as or forecast to be zero degrees celsius or below over seven consecutive days. Households can get the £25 for each seven day period of very cold weather between November 1 and March 31.
It should be noted that this scheme is different to the Winter Fuel Payment - a scheme that offers eligible claimants £100 towards their bills during the winter, which you can read more about here. The DWP has told Express.co.uk that the following areas and postcodes have been confirmed to be triggered for Cold Weather Payments on January 15, 2023 (with those in Wales highlighted):

How do I claim the Cold Weather Payment?
You don't need to apply for the Cold Weather Payment. According to the DWP, if you are eligible you'll be paid automatically. If you think you should receive a Cold Weather Payment but have not, the DWP recommends that you either tell the Pension Service or Jobcentre Plus. For further information on the scheme, click here.
