The coastal flood advisory for Anne Arundel County in Maryland has been extended into Thursday morning. This county borders Baltimore County to the south and includes Annapolis. Coastal inundation up to half a foot is possible in low-lying areas of the county, with tides expected to be 1.5 to 2 feet above normal, as reported by the local Baltimore/Washington National Weather Service (NWS) office.
The Baltimore/Washington NWS office mentioned that flooding may continue to be possible with the tide cycle during the day on Thursday, but water levels are anticipated to remain below minor flood stage thereafter.
As of the latest update, Baltimore is not under a coastal flood alert. However, a small craft advisory for the Patapsco River will go into effect Thursday morning at 11 a.m. ET due to strong winds, according to the Baltimore/Washington NWS office.
Rainfall from Wednesday night through early afternoon on Thursday is expected, and although the rain is light, it could still lead to reduced visibility on the river. Gusts are forecasted to reach up to 30 knots (34 mph) on Thursday on the river, with patchy fog potentially reducing visibility to 1 to 3 nautical miles.
Looking ahead, Baltimore's weather forecast for Friday includes sunny skies and seasonal temperatures, with highs reaching the low 60s.
