Captain America didn’t die a virgin, in case you were wondering.
And Chris Evans, who portrayed Steve Rogers, also known, since “Avengers: Endgame” as America’s A—, had no idea that his former co-star Mark Ruffalo was about to spill the beans on his character’s virginity, or lack thereof, in the new Marvel Disney+ series, “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.”
“Steve Rogers is not a virgin. He lost his virginity to a girl in 1943 on the USO tour,” Bruce Banner/The Hulk (Ruffalo) tells titular cousin Jen (Tatiana Maslany) in the show, disproving her theory that Cap was chaste until the end.
“I laughed my a— off,” Ruffalo, 54, told Entertainment Weekly about the reveal. “I’m like, ‘Does someone need to talk to Captain America about this?’ I haven’t. I was afraid he was going to have it cut. Too late now, buddy. The cat’s out of the bag.”
Evans seemed to be a good sport about having his alter ego’s body at the forefront of Marvel fans’ minds once again.
The “Gray Man” star, 41, took to Twitter Thursday with a trio of emojis cry-laughing, as well as one with a zipper over its mouth, and #SheHulk.
Evans nearly two years ago made headlines when he inadvertently shared a NSFW image, which went viral. He too took that in stride, going on to tell “The Tamron Hall Show” that the weekend in which the picture circulated had been “full of lessons learned, lots of teachable moments.
“Things happen, it’s embarrassing, you gotta roll with the punches,” he said at the time. “I will say I have some pretty fantastic fans who really came to my support and that was really, really nice.”
