Cheryl breaks five-month-long Instagram silence with teasing glowing selfie

Cheryl has returned to Instagram for the first time in five months as she shared a glowing selfie - as fans speculated the hidden meaning behind her post.

The 38-year-old last posted for a vitamin promo back in February as she celebrated the new year.

Since, she has remained quiet on her account, which has 3.5million followers, but decided to return to the social media site today.

Cheryl looked radiant as she posed for a close-up photo, hood pulled over her hazelnut tresses as she smiled for the camera.

Addressing her absence, she wrote: "It's been a minute...hope you're all good."

Fans quickly rushed to the comments, gushing that they had missed her as they began trying to work out whether she was making a big comeback.

While another wrote with a heart emoji: "We missed you."

A third tweeted: "i’d be better if you released a single xxx."

Another commented: "OH MY GOD."

In December it was revealed that Cheryl's annual income had dropped by 50 per cent in the last year after she has slowly slipped out of the limelight.

The star, who was once a member of one of the biggest girlbands on the planet saw her new track Let You sink to 57 in the UK chart.

This was the lowest ranking in her hugely successful career, a likely disappointing moment for the singer.

Cheryl had her son Bear with Liam Payne, 28, who is now four years old.

In September, she cancelled a performance at Birmingham Pride after the tragic death of her friend and former bandmate Sarah Harding.

The singer lost her battle with cancer at the age of 39 on September 5, just weeks before Cheryl was due to perform.

Clearly hugely affected by her friend's death, Cheryl also pulled the plug on her BBC podcast You, Me and R&B after just four episodes.
