Cheesecake lovers in Beeston were queuing in anticipation today for the opening of a new shop with a wide range of flavours on display.
Big Mike’s Artisan Cheesecakes opened its doors at 76 High Road in Beeston to a throng of customers eager to sample the creamy dessert.
Owner Mike Jones also runs another cheesecake shop in Carlton called Big Mike’s Fat Kitchen on 342 Carlton Hill.
Mr Jones said that the success of his shop in Carlton prompted him to open this outlet.
“We had thought about Beeston initially at the start when we were ready to open a store but the one in Carlton became available first," he said.
“It’s busy in Carlton and that store has allowed us to open this.
"We’ve been in the process of renovating the kitchen and getting ready to open this.”
During the height of the first pandemic, Mr Jones launched his cheesecake business on Instagram with a popular home delivery service.
He also revealed his most popular cheesecake.
“I would say it’s the Lotus Biscoff," he said.
"We have a vegan one too which is available on pre-ordering and tastes exactly the same as the usual one.
"We have different cheesecakes and we try and switch it up, this is the first time the Mini Egg has become available and Cherry Bakewell is quite new.”
The store sells an array of cheesecakes such as Daim, Crunchie, Galaxy Billionaire, Lemon, Terry’s Chocolate Orange and Mini Egg.
It also has other items such as a slice of cookie pie for £3.50.
There are deals such as four slices of any cheesecake for £12 or 10 slices for £26.
The opening times of the store in Beeston are:
Monday-Friday 11am-6pm
Saturday 11am-5pm
Sunday 11am-4pm
