Police in Antrim are reminding people that checkpoints are one of the ways officers keep local communities safe.
The Antrim and Newtownabbey branch of the PSNI took to Twitter on Saturday evening to explain how stopping vehicles can pay dividends and help protect neighbourhoods.
Motorists were told to be prepared to have a brief chat with officers if they were stopped on the roads.
In a post at 11.25pm on Saturday, the PSNIANDistrict account posted: "Checkpoints are just one way we keep you safe during our patrols.
"Stopping vehicles to speak to the occupants can pay dividends.
"Be prepared to stop and have a chat with us if we stop you tonight. We won't keep you long. Antrim Neighbourhood Policing Team"
