The cheapest place to buy all your roast dinner essentials has been confirmed.
There’s a lot that goes into the much-loved weekly meal - your meat of choice, or veggie alternative, roast potatoes, carrots, greens, Yorkshire puddings, gravy and whatever else you simply can’t go without. However, the price can quickly rack up, especially as the cost of living continues to rise.
Now, research from consumer finance experts CashLady.com has compared how much roast dinners cost at each supermarket. Aldi was named the cheapest for getting your roast dinner.

CashLady.com compared the prices of key ingredients including a medium-sized whole chicken, roast potatoes, carrots, red cabbage, gravy granules, stuffing, cranberry sauce and Yorkshire puddings. Products from eight supermarkets were compared.
Aldi’s roast dinner came in at £8.73 for a family of four, which works out at £2.19 per person. Tesco came in second at £8.87 and Asda ranked third, costing £8.96 for four people.
The most expensive supermarkets for roast dinners were Morrisons, Waitrose and Marks and Spencer. Morrisons came in at £11.55, followed by Waitrose for £14.81 and Marks and Spencer for £16.20.

“We conducted this research to uncover the cheapest leading supermarket for key roast dinner ingredients, to make sure Brits don’t have to sacrifice their Sunday roast whilst sticking to a budget. Our findings concluded that Aldi is the place to go, with a roast dinner coming out at £2.19 per person.”
