Comedian Charlie Pickering will present Friday Breakfast on ABC Radio Melbourne next year, with Sammy J returning for the Monday to Thursday shows.
ABC Radio Melbourne Manager Dina Rosendorff said the shared Breakfast shift was introduced to accommodate Sammy J's increasingly busy schedule, which will include a touring comedy show and new television projects.
"It's an absolute win for Melburnians, with two of the funniest, smartest and insightful people around giving their take on what's happening in this city across the week," she said.
Sammy J said for the past year he had been trying to "juggle everything".
"I've been doing a number of jobs, and I want to keep doing them all," he said.
"This is a way of doing everything that I love doing."
Mr Pickering said he "can't wait".
"I grew up listening to 774 … to me that's the sound of Melbourne," he said.
"I'm really glad that I can throw my voice into the ring."
There are no other changes to the ABC Radio Melbourne line up next year.
Ali Moore will present Mornings until March, when Virginia Trioli returns from extended leave.
All other regular presenters will be back the week starting Monday, January 16.
