Charlie Bird has opened up on the special relationship he has with his dog Tiger.
The legendary RTE reporter has been honest about his battles with motor neurone's disease since he was first diagnosed at the end of 2021.
A long campaign of fundraising led us to the start of this month, when Charlie scaled Croagh Patrick in Mayo - accompanied by his wife Clare and loyal pet Tiger.
The pair have been inseparable since Charlie adopted his companion years ago, and on Twitter on Sunday, Charlie opened up further about his pet.
He said: "Tiger gets me through the day. Six years ago I was afraid of dogs now I couldn’t survive without Tiger. The bond between myself and Tiger is unbelievable."
Charlie also had a special request for the thousands of people across the nation who took part in a fundraising climb alongside him.
There are talks of a special book or picture book being produced of the event, which has raised almost three million for Pieta House and the IMNA.
"Could you all help me with spreading the word about the book of photographs that we are aiming to publish in June. We are looking for two photos from each place there was a climbwithcharlie event." Charlie asked in a tweet on Sunday.
Speaking in the aftermath of completing his climb, Charlie said: "I am truly humbled and inspired that so many thousands of people took part in Climb with Charlie events across the world," he said.
"I want to thank people all across the country for their incredible support throughout this journey.
"All of the generous donations will go to the two charities which are so close to my heart. It is an amazing gesture of support for me and my family.
"Throughout this campaign, we have had the support of so many wonderful people and organisations, and I would like to thank them from the bottom of my heart."
