A Castle Douglas couple celebrated 65 years of happiness on Saturday afternoon.
Tom and Nancy Conchar, from Cotton Street, marked the occasion with a family lunch in the Kings Arms, with Lord Lieutenant of the Stewartry The Lord Sinclair presenting a card from King Charles III.
Nancy and Tom met when they were 16 when Nancy was an auxiliary nurse and Tom was an apprentice joiner.
They were married at Kelton Parish Church by Rev James D Ross on January 21, 1958 and the snow ensured it was literally a white wedding.
Three weeks after they were married Tom did his National Service, by which point he had served his time as an apprentice.
The couple started married life at The Buchan before Nancy, now 84, and Tom, now 85, moved to their home in Cotton Street in 1974.
Their son Steven is the hall keeper at Castle Douglas Town Hall and has also bowled for Scotland.
