An Allanton hairdressers with a "heart of gold" has been nominated for this week's 'Say it With Flowers'.
She was put forward by her best friend, Shirley Young, who said she's "always there" to support her and is someone she sees “more like a sister than a friend”.
The 40-year-old former Calderhead High pupil lives with her partner, Russell Smith, and works in Copper Rose hairdressers in Forth.
Shirley said she had been a tremendous support to her since her dad sadly passed away before Christmas last year.
Shirley told Lanarkshire Live : “I’ve known Christine since we were kids, probably most of my life.
“She has been my best friend all that time.
“She is a very caring person and the reason I nominated her was that, while she was grieving for her own dad, she was there for me at the time when I needed her most.
“She was dealing with her own problems, but she put that behind her to help me. She is one of the best people and she is more like a sister than a friend.
“Christine is there for me whenever I need anything.”
And when Shirley told us about Christine, we were delighted to be able to help, and surprised her with this spectacular floral display, courtesy of our friends at Pixies Petals in Newmains.
And on being presented with the flowers, Christine told us : “I am actually speechless.
“It was so kind of Shirley to think of me. She is such a great friend, you could not ask for anyone better.
“I appreciate it so much. I’m stuck for words and would also like to thank the Wishaw Press and Pixies Petal for the beautiful flowers.”
