One minute it’s 30C, the next it’s thunder and lightning. How are Mancs supposed to dress in this totally unpredictable weather?
While the sun is out however, everyone is embracing the rays and classic Summer wardrobe staples are making an appearance.
From my own experience, it’s too hot these days to even think, so when I get dressed in the morning I want to grab something reliable and that doesn’t require too much effort. And that seems to be the general consensus of many Mancs.
Stephanie Morales
If you like Stephanie Morales’ stunning flowing floral dress that is perfect for any Summer occasion, I hate to break it to you but you won’t find it in Manchester.
The 27-year-old from Spain got the flattering white floral maxi while she was at home. She paired the perfect Summer dress with a pale pink cardi and sandals - an effortless look.
“My dress is actually from Spain - it’s from a small shop over there so unfortunately you can’t get it in Manchester.
“I am loving this weather, the sun is just lovely - I’m so not looking forward to the thunderstorm this weekend, we do have storms in Spain which I’m used to, but I just want it to stay sunny!”
Koko
If there’s one man who knows a thing or two about style it’s Koko. The 25-year-old Manc didn’t let the warm weather stop him from wearing his Friday office fit, which featured some big named brands.
“I’m alright today, not too warm. I’ve got Jordan Ones on, cargos which I got from Reputation and my hoodie is ByGibril. I got my t-shirt from Heron Preston. I normally shop online for most of my clothes.
“My go-to look are usually cargos - cargos are a really easy go to fit, they can go with pretty much anything.”
Sarah Flanagan
Skorts are a massive trend in fashion right now. One scroll on TikTok and I’m sure you’ll see a skort pop up for sale on TikTok shop - if you know, you know. However, Sarah Flanagan’s stunning skort is straight out of Zara.
If you’re looking for something comfy to wear - especially if you’re working from the office in this heat - the 25-year-old from Belfast says a skort is what you need.
“I’m wearing a skirt from Zara, a shirt from Zara, a bodysuit from Topshop and a pair of New Balance trainers.
“Skorts are a safer option especially for work - even though it might look a bit short, you can be fully comfortable wearing it in the office knowing that it’s basically shorts you have on.”
Grace Eardley
For me, a sign that Summer has arrived is when I see people pulling out the Dickie's short length denim dungarees.
Denim dungarees are a classic look, and with the weather Mancs have been experiencing lately, having the shorter leg is very much ideal to keep cool in the heat.
Dungarees also provide an effortless look when in fact, like Grace Eardley, 34, from Manchester city centre, you probably didn’t have to think twice about what you wanted to wear before leaving the house.
“It’s just comfort I guess, I’m doing lots of different things today such as heading to the gym so I wanted something easy to wear.”
