Can you give a home to an adorable deaf dog?

An adorable Staffordshire Cross, who is believed to have been born deaf, is currently looking for a new forever home.

Arthur is ten years old and adores attention. He can live comfortably with children aged 12 and above and is keen to enjoy short walks and explore the great outdoors with his new family.

Waiting at the West Calder Dog Trust centre, the friendly doggy is ready to gift his love, charm and devotion to a compassionate family who would be delighted to welcome him.

A spokesperson for the West Calder rehoming centre said: “He is a friendly boy who is happy to say hello to everyone he meets but can be misunderstood by people, so will need help learning hand signals for communication.

“Arthur loves to explore the great outdoors and can easily manage short walks. He would like a home with a garden where he can potter around, enjoying the sun and chasing after his toys.

“Arthur is looking for owners who will be at home initially, as he isn’t used to being left on his own. Arthur is eager to please people for a tasty treat and is happy to jump in the car to go on new adventures.”

The charity is also appealing for a home for Tara, a friendly 11-year-old Labrador Crossbreed.

Tara loves being centre of attention and always enjoys meeting new people. A loyal and affectionate girl, she is happiest simply being in her family’s company and loves nothing more than cuddling up beside you on the sofa for a snooze. Tara is very clever and fully housetrained.

A real foodie, she loves all kinds of treats and will give a polite paw in exchange for a biscuit. Tara is a playful girl and can often be found pottering around the garden with her soft toys before finding the perfect sunbathing spot.

Tara is looking for a loving retirement home where she can enjoy lots of love and attention. Tara has plenty of energy and loves to keep active so would like for her new family to take her on adventures where she can say hello to other polite dogs. Her gentle nature means she would be an excellent companion for a fun-loving family with children aged 10+.
