After another strong performance from Cleveland Browns quarterback Joe Flacco that included over 200 yards in the fourth quarter, he began popping up on betting sites as a candidate to win NFL Comeback Player of the Year. Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith won the award last year after he was a backup for many seasons before becoming a starter again similar to Flacco, though he played the whole season.
However, Flacco doesn’t seem interested in the award at all after he was asked about it on Wednesday.
“Who knows what constitutes as a comeback. I’ve only played three games. … comeback from not going to training camp and bussing kids around. Who knows.”
I continue to be impressed by the professionalism of Flacco during the month he has been in Cleveland so far. He truly seems like a fantastic teammate who is only concerned with winning games and staying focused on the task at hand. The team heads to Houston this Sunday looking to get one step closer to locking up a playoff spot.
