Most recently, the star believed she may have had the coronavirus even though the antibody test she took came back as negative.
"I had all the same symptoms and got sent to hospital for checks because they thought I had pneumonia," she told Metro.
"It lasted for five weeks and I remember saying to my mum, 'It's like nothing I've ever known.'"
She has since recovered and landed a deal with BBC.
Claire joined BBC Radio Merseyside to host a brand new series chatting with guests about their lives, careers, and all things Merseyside.
The radio show, called Claire Sweeney Meets, has the likes of Jason Isaacs, John Barnes and Paul O'Grady as special guests.
Claire said of the show: "Two things that have got me through lockdown have been chatting to friends and listening to great music, this show combines them both.
"I've had so much fun doing the series, I almost forgot I was doing a radio show. It was just like sitting with a cup of coffee chatting with friends and having a laugh."
Her more recent credits include appearing in the final episode of Benidorm and in BBC One comedy Scarborough.
